September Lead Generation Synopsis by Richard Woods – Managing Director at Yomp Marketing

Each month we add up all of the business enquiries we generate for our clients (Leads) and discuss in detail the highlights, areas to improve and award a stand out campaign.

*NB: The leads we generate are primarily for high end business services and therefore a client who receives 20 hot targeted leads may consider this a good month. A good example is for our Recruitment or Accounting clients who are delighted with circa 20 – 30 good quality leads.

Executive Summary

September saw a slight increase in the volume of leads served to our client base, however, we we’re very pleased to find out that the quality of leads that were delivered to our clients was high and the R.O.I for our clients was greater in September than previous months.

The top level result was:
Last month – August 2016 = 1,247 Leads

This Month – September 2016 = 1,460 Leads

Highlights

Overall, the whole of our client portfolio had a steady month in September, picking up the pace off the back of what I like to call ‘Silly Season’ in August.  We saw a particular rise in InfoSwap engagement with a couple of our larger clients.

Our Recruitment clients are starting to see the benefit of employees and candidates come back from summer holidays with a new focus and in many cases the desire to change jobs before Christmas, this has had an uplift for clients such as www.giveagradago.com. – To tie in, we have added additional blog and video content around a ‘Changing Jobs before Christmas’ theme as now gives most people a good run up to making a decision like moving firms.

Our Southampton Student Halls of Residence client – Urba-Life was extremely strong in September due to the new term’s start and last minute enquires through students in clearing, needing accommodation. What helped was an AdWords focus on specific keywords, and targeted Facebook activity.

Pop-Up’s still strong in Sept…

This month has been helped by the addition of a pop up to a number of client’s websites. The pop up is for simple call to action’s such as a ‘free call back’ or a download our info pack and prices. In particular, this addition has generated an additional 68 leads in the month for Boiler 24/7, an Ascot based local plumber.

Areas to Improve

Facebook is becoming better and better for B2B clients, particularly if they are promoting events or inexpensive trail services or even a freemium style software or service. Focusing on better Facebook info-swaps with a clever ‘hook’ of a title needs to be looked at and money spent with Facebook boosting these types of posts will prove even more effective. – This has been scheduled to be trialled further as 2016 progresses.

How did Yomp do?

At Yomp we also put ourselves onto a Digital TrailBlazer Campaign – We call it ‘Drinking our own Kool-Aid!’ Our results were as follows:

September is month two of the highly successful 30 Leads in 30 Days Challenge.

This was our thought leadership InfoSwap. The idea is that we help businesses to generate 30 more enquiries for their business within 30 days for FREE.

The way we help is via one email a day, from me, to them, with actionable tips, tricks and tasks for 30 days. They then implement the action points (which takes no more than 30 minutes a day, usually less). It was an OK month on the Yomp front, but with the new website going live in October + Last month we launched the 30 Leads in 30 Days challenge, this does feel like a ‘between’ major campaigns month.

Stand Out Lead Generation Campaign

The Campaign that gets the honour of best campaign is again Urba-Life’s Southampton Student Accommodation Campaign, which powers on for the second month in a row as top performers. Adding in a high quality info pack download helped to achieve even more signup’s + a quality SEO and PPC performance.

Last Word…

Again good progress, but I would like to see us grow higher than 1,300 leads next month.
