3 Often Overlooked Online Lead Generation Methods

Hi everyone, I have been having some thoughts around often overlooked online Lead Generation Methods this week and thought I would share my opinion on 3 of the best with you…

1. Online Chat

Often people leave your website because they never really belonged there. Your product or service just wasn’t a good fit and that’s OK. But sometimes visitors leave for the WRONG reasons: a minor misunderstanding about what your product does, a feature that isn’t explicitly listed, a very specific question that your web copy didn’t overtly answer. Often, these visitors won’t take the time to call, nor will they fill out your email form and wait for a response. But many will engage in a live online chat with an operator who can help answer their questions. It has been reported that it’s not uncommon for chat to boost conversion rates by 15-25% or more.

As a starter I really like www.intercom.com as a website plugin. It can automate many of the answers out for you and is incredibly user friendly.

2. Start a Podcast

Podcasts are everywhere now and accessible through Apple TV, the internet, iPhone’s, iPads and more. Podcasts are great for business travellers who download podcasts and listen to it while on the road. It’s sort of like a magazine subscription but in an audio format. When people subscribe they’ll get the latest podcasts to catch up on. Getting your solutions out through this channel is innovative and puts your message in more hands.

Lead Gen Academy member David Wicks has had some great success with the launch of his new podcast Digital Hunters (https://digitalhunters.co.uk) , which is well worth downloading – guests such as Receipt Bank, Sky Scanner and Paddle are hard to get in front of and make for excellent advice and business growth insights. It also has leveraged David band incredibly as a result.

3. Webinars

Webinars are an inexpensive way to get your message to thousands of potential customers. There are many services that allow you to broadcast a webinar quickly and easily. And if you make it a recurring event, you’ll continue to grow your following. So, come up with a great idea that helps your customers and promote it using social media, your network and your newsletter. At the end of the webinar, feel free to ask the attendees to download an eBook, sign up for your newsletter, or visit your site. This will bring the leads flowing in.
