3 Digital Marketing Trends for 2016
What a great festive period we have just had, I hope you feel rested?
Santa brought me a daughter on the 28th of December so my wife and I are absolutely delighted!
Moving into 2016 which looks to be a great year for online marketing, I thought I would share three marketing trends that I know will shape the way we all work online.
#1 Mobile Domination
In 2016 mobile will go on to completely dominate desktop. Last year was massive for mobile as Google announce that mobile website visitors overtook desktop website visitors in 10 different countries. It was also the year they released the “Mobilegeddon” algorithm update to phase out non-mobile optimised websites. – If you still do not have a mobile optimised website, you will be losing ranking and business, this is the first place I would start if you are considering doing anything in 2016 online.
#2 Voice commands upon mobile = New SEO
Voice commands upon mobile will lead to a new kind of search engine optimisation (SEO) – The rise of digital assistants like Siri and Cortana do utilize traditional search engines, but only when necessary to find information. The key to optimising in this new format is to make sure your business information is easily accessible to these assistants, rather than trying to funnel people to your site specifically. – Your Google Local Profile is a great place to start
#3 Search Engines will have major competition
With Facebook already working on tests for its own search engine, it seems inevitable that Google, Bing, and Yahoo will finally have some major competition. With search capabilities improving within social media, brands will get an automatic boost. In addition, buy buttons and payment messaging will appear more frequently upon social in 2016 which will give birth to an all-in-one-type platform. – Very exciting with many opportunities.
